Some interesting racing at York today but only the Clipper Logistics Handicap makes appeal to me as a betting race, for all that it's typically wide-open and competitive. El Vip is an unexposed sort with the scope to do even better and I think it's worth forgiving the horse's Royal Hunt Cup performance on account of both his draw and track position being far from ideal given how it panned out. He didn't run terribly in any regard but was sent off at just 9/1 for the cavalry charge and better had been expected. The way he won at Newcastle marks him down as a big contender in this and he should go close if getting the breaks.
3:00 - El Vip - 1.50pts @ 10/1 (General) - Last @ 10/1; awful run. Reported he didn't handle the ground.
