I'm as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike at present but the show goes on. Two bets for today and both are big-priced runners in the massive field sprint handicaps. Stellarta has to prove herself on softer ground but is nearly always underrated in the betting and that looks to be the case again. Her last run is easily forgiven on account of the draw and this track will suit better than Ascot does anyway. A big run would not surprise in a race where she was only beaten a couple of lengths last year at 50/1. Ed Walker's 6-year-old, Aeolus, gets the nod in the Stewards' Cup; the ground will be fine and he's far from exposed in handicaps having raced at a higher level for the majority of his career. First time cheekpieces are an interesting addition and the fact that he'll handle conditions better than most is an obvious plus.
1:50 - Stellarta - 1pt @ 28/1 (General) - 5th @ 33/1; cracking run, only beaten a couple of lengths.
3:35 - Aeolus - 1pt @ 28/1 (General) - 2nd @ 16/1; great effort, just found one too good this time.
