Monday was a disappointment. Timeless Art came in for support from 6/1 to 7/2 favouritism but despite moving well for some time, never looked like winning. The ground probably counted against him and fourth was respectable in the circumstances. One Boy was my other bigger fancy and he dropped away altogether, failing to run anywhere near his ability. Slemy fits into a similar camp, although his current well-being is evidently nil and it's impossible to know when he'll return to form. He'll be very well treated when he does eventually find his feet again. Compton Park traded evens but was ridden too close to a hot pace.

-5.00pts on the day.

Three bets for today, two at York and one at Goodwood. God Willing is the first and he's a horse I always try to catch right! One thing is for sure, he's fairly treated having fallen below his last winning mark and shaped well in the Thirsk Hunt Cup on his penultimate start before finding 6f too sharp last time. Stablemate Mysterial also gets the nod and can go well. He, too, is on a sound mark and there have been hints of top form not being too far away in recent times. If he gets loose on the front end, he could hold on this time. Monteverdi is the final bet and you can throw out his Windsor run. Better should be expected today.

3:30 - God Willing - 1pt @ 20/1 (General) - 13th @ 14/1; didn't run too badly. Needed a proper gallop.
5:15 - Mysterial - 1pt @ 8/1 (General) - 6th @ 7/1; may have went a bit quick up top. Back to 1m 2f...

6:35 - Monteverdi - 1pt @ 5/1 (General) - 8th @ 8/1; badly hampered but was fading. Disappointing.
